You read that heading right: Assassin’s Creed is going to China with a female Assassin, and while that has us pretty excited, we’re not ‘head-over-heels’ excited, unfortunately. Because it’s not a ‘full-fledged’ game.
Ubisoft will be releasing DLC (downloadable content) for Assassin’s Creed Unity as part of its season pass. The usual, expect add-ons will be in there, with a new story campaign, additional weapons and more missions, and what no one was expecting, it will also house an entirely separate game: Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.
You’ll play as Shao Jun, the last remaining assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, who isn’t that new to the crew: she was a student under Ezio Auditore in the animated short, Assassin’s Creed Embers, and in the Assassin’s Creed Revelations novel.
Set in the 16th century Middle Kingdom, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be 2D, and has been rendered in a style inspired by traditional brush paintings, Ubisoft says, and combines stealth, martial arts and all-new assassin gear. The game was developed by Climax Studios.
According to Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass content will arrive early 2015.
2D or not, I need this ASAP.
